The long wait to see Toby Keith's 'Hope on the Rocks' video is just about over. But in case you are dying to learn more about the characters in the storied song, the country star has released a teaser video to introduce some of them to you.

'Hope on the Rocks' isn't your average drinking song. It's not about tipping back a 'Red Solo Cup' and having a good time. Instead, this one is about the people who have let their dreams or relationships die -- and now they are turning to alcohol.

"The characters in this song, 'Hope on the Rocks,' were derived out of my imagination; I had to come up with eight or ten characters," Keith explains in the video clip. "I had little bitty windows that I could write about them. That's why it took so long for me to write this song -- longer than usual -- because I only had a line or two to tell about each person."

Two of the characters in the tune are Brady and Charlie. Brady was a high school baseball star who didn't quite live out his dream of going pro. He'll be played by a dark-haired 20-something, who is wearing a backwards baseball cap. Meanwhile, Charlie let a different kind of dream die -- he let the love of his life go when he and his wife got divorced. He raises a glass of beer and explains that he hasn't seen her since they parted ways, so he just hangs out at the bar now.

Keith will release another teaser clip on Wednesday, and on Friday (Nov. 30), fans can see the entire 'Hope on the Rocks' video. Judging by this first 60-second sneak peak, it's going to be a tear-jerker.
