"Drinks After Work" is Toby Keith's first release from the yet to be titled, forth coming album, due out the end of 2013. This song was written by his friends Luke Laird, Barry Dean and Natalie Hemby, which explains why this song sounds nothing like a typical Toby Keith tune. Don't get me wrong, this is one awesome song and I think it's the kind of change the Oklahoma native needs.

His usual testosterone infused lyrics leave the ladies out of the Toby love loop. Everything he has released since 9/11 has been ass kicking, take no prisoners, man tunes like: "Courtesy of the Red White and Blue," "Red Solo Cup," "I Love This Bar," "As Good As I Once Was," "American Soldier," "Beer for My Horses" you get the idea.

Where are the songs with a melody? The songs where Toby uses his vocal chords to charm and seduce the ladies? I found it, in a song called "Drinks After Work." The song is nothing like Toby Keith has done. Look recently Mr. Keith has been pandering to an all male audience. Now, the ladies are listening and wondering where he's been hiding.

Here Toby is romancing his babe, asking her out for a drink after work. He even says:
"Happy hour is like a holiday, and hangin' with you is like gettin' away. Let's conversate for a little while"
that is talking the language of the ladies and I predict that this song will get a heap load of downloads from the ladies.

But don't just take my word for it, stop what you're doing and give this a listen. I'll bet you'll be thinking along the same lines.
