The Virginian is coming back as a movie, the lead role will be played by country superstar Trace Adkins. This will not be Trace Adkins first acting role, recently he starred in the motion picture "Wyatt Earp's Revenge." When appearing as a contestant on the TV reality show "Celebrity Apprentice," Adkins said that he thought his country music career may be coming to an end and would like to make the transition into acting full-time.

The big screen adaption puts Adkins as the enforcer for a cattle baron who makes an unwelcome discovery when investigating a rash of cattle rustling devastating the community. Adkins would play the enforcer and his co-star Ron Perlman is set to play the cattle baron. Production starts this week in Vancouver.

"The Virginian" may be what the doctor ordered for Adkins future career, because it was one the longest running western series. "The Virginian" became television's first 90-minute western series and was the third longest running western in television history. If the movie does well, could their be a new television series in Adkins future? Only time will tell. Stay tuned the trailer is coming soon.
