According to a statement from the network, Yearwood’s yet-untitled show is set in her kitchen and is scheduled to launch in September. “Most of it is really basic, and that’s what I like about it,” Yearwood says of her recipes. “I am not a chef. I am a cook. And if it is hard to do or really time consuming or requires some kind of weird ingredient, I’m not going to make it. I’m quick to tell people I am not a chef, it is just basic stuff.”

A new television show isn’t the only thing the singer has to keep her busy — she is in the planning stages of another cookbook and still wants to start work on some new music.
