Tyler Williams, ‘Good for Me’ Lyric Video [Exclusive Premiere]
Race car driver Tyler Williams is launching a country music career with the single “Good for Me,” and The Boot has the premiere of his lyric video for the song. Readers can press play above to watch.
The lead song from and title track of a forthcoming debut record, “Good for Me” is a song about a failed relationship that, no matter how hard Williams tried, just wasn’t meant to be.
“Sometimes you want it work out so bad, but it just doesn’t no matter how hard you try. You look over one day, and you notice the passenger seat is empty, and all of the memories just flood in,” Williams explains. “My songs tend to come from my personal life, and that’s exactly what I was feeling when we went in to write this one. The constant traveling between tracks can take its toll on a relationship.”
The album on which “Good for Me” will appear is due out in early 2018; pre-sales will begin December. Good for Me, the album, was produced by Jonathan Roye, and more than half of its seven tracks were co-written by Williams.
The Georgia-born Williams grew up listening to Michael W. Smith and Marvin Gaye with his parents and pop and country hits with his older brother. At the age of 11, Williams took part in a production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Atlanta’s Fox Theater, igniting his love of the stage … but a failed performance as part of a rock band as a young teenager left him afraid to pursue that goal.
In college at the University of Georgia, Williams turned to racing and has competed for a decade as a NASCAR All-American, VRA and USAC Series driver. Meanwhile, following a breakup, an impromptu karaoke night performance made him decide to try music again.
In addition to racing and music, Williams is also a published author: He released I Have a Voice in the spring of 2016. Fans can visit TylerWilliamsLive.com to learn more about Williams and his endeavors.
