Watch a Race Car Catch Fire … On the Inside!
One would think that seeing a fire ignite inside their car would be a good indication to get the hell out. However, if you’re a race car driver, it seems safety is second-tier to finishing the race.
Just ask pro Rally Driver, Ken Block, who recently had a fire ignite inside his Ford Fiesta during a race. But despite facing possible discomfort, sweating and injury — not to mention death — Block drove the hell out of the car before it started filling with smoke like some sort of hotbox.
Luckily, that fire extinguisher was right under the seat. From that, we can glean this sort of thing isn’t too uncommon.
