Watch Legends Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris Perform on ‘The Late Show with David Letterman’
Houston, Texas native Rodney Crowell and Emmylou Harris are two legendary artists who have see their share of success. Anyone who appreciates the history of country music undoubtedly has an appreciation for the contributions these two have made to the scene. Now, they're working together, and in conjunction with the release of the pair's collaborative album, 'Old Yellow Moon', the two music icons made an appearance on 'The Late Show with David Letterman'.
Letterman continues to pleasantly surprise me with his appreciation for music, and after all these years of hosting his own talk show, you can still tell when he sincerely enjoys having a musical guest on the show. Dave showed his giddiness when Ray Wylie Hubbard appeared on the show in January, and it's clear that he enjoyed Crowell and Harris' appearance. He opens by saying "This is wonderful. Two extraordinary mulitple Grammy award winning singer/songwriters, and they have collaborated on a wonderful new CD. I think we have a shot of it here. It's entitled 'Old Yellow Moon'."
The performance was great, as expected. Emmylou and Rodney performed a beautiful, haunting rendition of their song 'Dreaming My Dreams'. This is a song that showcases two of the most pure singing voices in the history of country music. Check out the video:
The new album from Emmylou Harris and Rodney Crowell, 'Old Yellow Moon', is now available. and if 'Dreaming My Dreams' is any indication of the quality of the rest of the songs on the CD, you will want to own it.
