Jessi Colter widow of the late, Country Music Hall of Famer Waylon Jennings, says her days are filled with people who want to talk about her late husband, they tell her stories, some of which are true and others she questions.

If singer/songwriter Jessi Colter is in a place where live music is being performed and the band on stage recognizes her, a Waylon Jennings song will soon follow, and Jessi says it will invariably be "OK" but it evokes memories.

“I deal with it every day, and I sometimes stand braced and other times just relax and let it go over my head,” she says. “Frankly, sometimes it hurts my heart to hear someone do his songs.”

All of which is why, Colter was reluctant to green-light a series of three Waylon Jennings tribute albums, the first of which, The Music Inside, Vol. 1, is newly available (subsequent volumes are due in June and October). The albums feature the songs of Waylon Jennings, Performed by the likes of family friends of Colter and son Shooter Jennings, to friends Kris Kristofferson & Hank Williams Jr. and admirers Jamey Johnson, Patty Griffin and one from a newly reunited Alabama.
