Montgomery Gentry will bring more than 15 years of hits to the stage when they perform on Friday night (Aug. 5) as part of the second day of WE Fest 2016.

The duo consisting of Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry helped to revolutionize country music's sound at the turn of the 2000s, injecting a heavy dose of high-energy Southern rock into the format to score with a long list of hit songs.

The Kentucky natives played together in some early bands, and formed a duo called Deuce, which changed its name to Montgomery Gentry and signed with Columbia Records in Nashville at the tail end of the '90s. Their 1999 debut album, Tattoos & Scars, yielded five singles, including a Top 5 in “Lonely and Gone.” The duo went on to score a slew of hits, blending country and rock influences on songs including “My Town,” “Speed,” “Gone, "If You Ever Stop Loving Me" and “Some People Change.”

They moved over to Average Joes Entertainment for their 2011 album Rebels on the Run, which scored a hit with “Where I Come From,” and signed a new deal with Blaster Records to release Folks Like Us in 2015. The duo have won ACM and CMA Awards and have been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, and they are legendary for their raucous, high-energy live shows, which blend music and spectacle as well as any rock band that might take the stage.

They'll bring a deep catalog of hits to the stage at WE Fest 2016, as part of a second day lineup that also includes William Michael Morgan, Granger Smith, Billy Currington and headliner Kid Rock. Eric Church and Tim McGraw are set to headline the other two days, topping off a lineup that country fans won't want to miss at Soo Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes, Minn. in August.
