Is this what happens if you go faster than 88 miles per hour in a DeLorean? Maybe.

The photo above was posted Saturday to the Facebook page of the Hazle Township (Pa.) Fire Company, located about two hours north of Philadelphia. The charred remains of the DeLorean represent one of four calls the fire and rescue company responded to yesterday.

If this had been 2015, we'd be convinced that Doc Brown and Marty McFly from the 'Back To The Future' trilogy were somehow involved. It doesn't look that way:

"Daryl Givens of Swoyersville was driving south on Interstate 81 in Butler Township when his vehicle, a Delorean, began experiencing mechanical issues...the driver pulled off the highway near mile marker 141 in Hazle Township between the Hazleton and Greater Hazleton Beltway exits, when fire erupted in the rear engine compartment."

It would be awesome if this had been some grassroots marketing campaign for a 'Back to the Future' sequel/remake.  Alas, it seems as though this was just a simple car fire. (It still might have been better received than 'The Lone Ranger' or 'After Earth.')
