‘Workaholics’ Renewed for 2 More Seasons, ‘Drunk History’ Ordered To Series

Workaholics Season 4 5 Drunk History
Comedcy Central / FunnyOrDie

Every ‘Workaholics‘ fan knows that they’ve gotta be fresh, and Comedy Central isn’t going to argue any time soon. In addition to the fourth season of the twenty-something slacker comedy set to premiere on January 16, Comedy Central also announced at the Television Critics Association press tour its plans to return ‘Workaholics’ for a fifth season as well. Additionally, FunnyOrDie sketch ‘Drunk History,’ has officially been ordered to series but for how many episode? New details inside!

Adam, Blake and Ders aren’t getting fired anytime soon. In addition to the new episodes beginning Wednesday, January 16, Comedy Central has announced that ‘Workaholics’ has been picked up for a fourth and fifth season, to consist of 13 episodes each. “When I realized Workaholics is not a reality show, it made me appreciate the guys’ talent that much more,” said Comedy Central head of original programming and production Kent Alterman. “It only seems right that we would renew for two seasons.”

Additionally, the network has ordered FunnyOrDie web-series ‘Drunk History’ to an eight-episode series airing in the summer, to be produced by legendary funnyman Will Ferrell, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy, all of whom will will executive produce with web series creator Derek Waters, director and Owen Burke.

Like the web series, Comedy Central’s ‘Drunk History’ will feature historical reenactments by A-list talent serving as the titular drunk storytellers. “Will and I have always believed booze brings out truth,” McKay said at the panel. “Sometimes that truth involves hitting on airport bar janitors or eating cheese fries at 4 a.m.  But in this case, we hope that truth will shine on our nation’s history.”

The web-series has previously featured the likes of Ferrell, Jim Carrey, Ryan Gosling, Jack Black, Don Cheadle, Michael Cera, Zooey Deschanel, John C. Reilly, Crispin Glover, Jason Ritter and Danny McBride.

What say you? Are you excited to have ‘Workaholics’ back for additional seasons? What about ‘Drunk History’ as a full series?
