Throughout its six seasons, Nashville included a number of incredible performances. Thanks to the involvement of producer T Bone Burnett and musician Buddy Miller, as well as songwriters including Hillary Lindsey and Elvis Costello, the show has featured both stellar covers and beautiful original tracks, performed by stars Connie Britton (Rayna Jaymes), Charles Esten (Deacon Claybourne), Hayden Panettiere (Juliette Barnes) and others.

Below, The Boot takes a look back at five of the best songs from the Nashville cast. The show's series finale is scheduled to air on July 26, on CMT, at 9PM ET.

    "Ho Hey"

    Season One

Lennon and Maisy Stella, who play Maddie and Daphne Conrad, respectively, on Nashville, recorded this acoustic cover of the Lumineers’ “Ho Hey” for the show's first season. It highlights the sister duo's stunning harmonies, and has racked up more than 30 million streams on Spotify.

"When the Right One Comes Along"

    Season Two

Performed by Clare Bowen’s Scarlett O’Connor and Sam Palladio’s Gunnar Scott, “When the Right One Comes Along” was actually written by songwriters Justin Davis, Georgia Middleman and Sarah Zimmerman (even though Scarlett and Gunnar “write it” during the show). It’s one of Nashville’s most gorgeous love songs.

    "A Life That's Good"

    Season Two

In Season 2, Maddie and Daphne perform “A Life That’s Good,” written in Nashville's fictional country music universe by Rayna and Deacon and in real life by Ashley Monroe and Sarah Siskind. This performance comes before the two sisters start on their own musical trajectories, but it let viewers know they got mama Rayna's (and, in the real world, their parents') talent.

    "If I Didn’t Know Better"

    Season One

Written by John Paul White, formerly of the Civil Wars, and Arum Ray, “If I Didn’t Know Better” is perhaps the best duet performance from Scarlet and Gunnar. In the show's very first episode, the pair performs the song at Nashville’s iconic Bluebird Cafe.

"Don’t Put Dirt on My Grave Just Yet"

    Season Two

Always mired in scandal, Juliette was as defiant as ever with her song “Don’t Put Dirt on My Grave Just Yet.” The stomping country tune was written by Caitlyn Smith and Justin Dabbs.
