Boy, that Apple wasn’t kidding about their entry into the TV business. Atop high-profile projects from Reese Witherspoon and Steven Spielberg, the tech giant has now booked SNL alum Kristen Wiig for a new ten-episode comedy with Witherspoon producing.
A new year means new movies, and Disney is staying on top of it with sneak peeks at some of their big upcoming sequels — including Ant-Man and the Wasp, which sees (as you can guess from the title) Evangeline Lilly suiting up to follow in her vanished mother’s super-footsteps with a cool suit of her very own. And the latest photo from the sequel to the 2015 Marvel movie delivers on the promise with another peek at Lilly’s super sleek Wasp suit…oh, and Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man is there too, of course.
Critics weren’t too kind to Gus Van Sant’s last film (the Matthew McConaughey Japanese suicide forest movie), but the filmmaker tends to follow a pattern where every other movie is actually good — and thankfully, judging by the first trailer, Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot looks to be one of the better Van Sant projects in recent years. Joaquin Phoenix leads an awesome cast (which includes a few musical faves) in the true story of an alcoholic who finds respite from his addiction in drawing cartoons for the funny pages.
Last month, Saudi Arabia announced they would be lifting their 35-year cinema ban nationwide, re-legalizing movie theaters and bringing in content and entertainment from the West.
No less than four FX series understandably cut ties with Louis C.K. once word of his harassment habits broke, but animated TBS comedy The Cops only suspended production. Now, TBS and FX have opted not to replace C.K. as star and producer; rather shuttering the series altogether.
