Aug. 5, 2019, is officially Dolly Parton Day in Nashville! Music City Mayor David Briley announced the news after signing a proclamation in honor of Parton's contributions to both music and philanthropy throughout her decades-long career. "We give thanks for Dolly's unparalleled career as an entertainer and philanthropist and her ability to touch millions of lives everywhere, including so many right here in Music City, with her moving music and generous heart," the proclamation reads in part.

Scotty McCreery is headed to Europe this fall for a series of tour dates in Germany and the United Kingdom. According to Nash Country Daily, McCreery will head to Berlin, Germany, for a show on Oct. 23, making stops in Cologne, Germany, and London, England, before concluding the four-show run in Manchester, England. Tickets for the Germany dates are on sale now, and tickets for the UK shows will become available on Aug. 9.

Dallas Smith and Billy Ray Cyrus will co-host the 2019 Canadian Country Music Awards. Set for Sept. 8 at Calgary, Alberta's Scotiabank Saddledome, the ceremony will recognize the achievements of Canada's biggest country stars (including Smith, who's nominated for three trophies, including Entertainer of the Year). The event will air live across Canada starting at 9PM ET, and will be broadcast on Twitter for fans who want to watch the action from the States.

John Hiatt is the latest recipient of BMI's Troubadour Award. The honor, which recognizes the accomplishments of music's finest songwriters, will be presented to Hiatt at a private dinner at BMI's Nashville office on Sept. 9. Known for hits recorded by Iggy Pop, Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt, Hiatt joins previous winners Robert Earl Keen and John Prine in the list of Troubadour Award recipients.
