Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton closed out the 2019 CMA Awards with a show-stopping (literally) performance. The two country stars shared their song "Dive Bar" from the awards show's stage on Wednesday night (Nov. 13).

In their first ever television performance of the song, the two Oklahoma native country singers performed their new single in a customized dive bar stage, their backing band playing in front of shelves of liquor. They traded off lines and Brooks brought his usual crowd-working moves to the show, moving around and pointing to audience members. It was rollicking last performance of the night.

Ironically, it was Shelton's performance of "God's Country" during April's 2019 ACM Awards that inspired Brooks to reach out about a possible collaboration. "I thought, 'I’m feeling something here that's drawing me right into this television.' So I just reached out for him. He was so sweet on the phone," Brooks recently said in a press release.

"The last thing I said was, 'Hey, man, I don't want to put you on the spot, but we got a song that might be a pretty cool duet,'" Brooks added. Shelton, of course, said yes.

Brooks is nominated for Entertainer of the Year at the 2019 CMA Awards. Shelton, meanwhile, earned nods in the categories of Single of the Year, Song of the Year and Music Video of the Year, all for his recent No. 1 single "God's Country."
