Kelly Clarkson is adding her name to the growing list of celebrities who have launched their own daytime talk shows.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Clarkson recently signed a deal with NBC Universal Television Distribution, and she is filming a pilot for a proposed daytime talk show that would likely begin airing in the fall of 2019.

There are few details about the project, which has no network attached to it yet. None of the executive producers have been revealed, and it's not clear if the show would be sold to television stations in syndication or whether it might air on another platform, or a combination of both approaches.

All of the Times Kelly Clarkson Dabbled in Country Music

Clarkson is one of the highest-profile multi-genre music and television personalities, having launched her career by winning the first season of American Idol in 2002. Most recently, she returned to television as a coach on NBC's The Voice, and she's slated to return to that gig next season, too, as part of a larger deal she has signed with NBC.

The superstar's timing is perfect; as THR observes Harry Connick, Jr.'s syndicated talk show, Harry, has been canceled after two seasons, leaving a hole in the daytime syndication market. RuPaul is also developing a new daytime talk show under a deal with Telepictures.

Clarkson has sold more than 25 million albums and more than 45 million singles, and she's a multiple Grammy winner. In addition to her pop hits, she has close ties to country music; she's collaborated with Jason Aldean and Reba McEntire, and in March of 2018, Clarkson hinted at an entire country project at some point in the future when she tweeted that top Nashville songwriter and producer Shane McAnally had "already written some number one songs for me but y’all just haven’t heard them."

Clarkson released a country song called "Tie It Up" in 2013, which McAnally wrote. Most recently, she collaborated with Dan + Shay on a song titled "Keeping Score," from their self-titled third album.
