Luke Combs took a chance to get Eric Church to collaborate on "Does to Me," a new song on Combs' What You See Is What You Get album.

The "Beer Never Broke My Heart" hitmaker reveals that the two weren't really friends at the time, despite having toured together in 2018. Church is a somewhat reclusive country music hitmaker, so getting to know him took some work. Combs remained diligent.

The two men are cut from the same cloth — or at least from the same area of the country. During this ToC Nights Live! interview with Taste of Country Nights' Evan and Amber, the newest CMA Male Vocalist of the Year opens up about several things with a unique charm and swagger that's really enjoyable to watch.

Perhaps it helped that we loosened him up with a few red Solo cups and a game of Flip Cup? Nah, the 29-year-old Combs would probably have been pretty chill with or without admitting his most embarrassing celebrity moment or his shower habit.

What You See Is What You Get debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard all-genre chart, becoming just the second country album to do so in 2019. The album has already notched a No. 1 hit in "Beer Never Broke My Heart," but Combs' new ballad "Even Though I'm Leaving" figures to be close behind. The tear-jerker came from a personal place for the songwriting trio. That story also surfaces into this interview, which premieres on YouTube at 8PM CT on Wednesday (Nov. 20).
