I'm not a huge fan of apple pie but my family is so I wanted to find the easiest possible recipe I could. I don't like spending a lot of time on things I don't like. There are a lot of recipes out there but I've tried a few and I think I have found the best, in fact, after making my last pie I was told I am now the sole apple pie maker in the house. I think that's a pretty good indication I found all the right ingredients.

Ingredients:

    • 1 pkg (2 pre-made pie crusts) or make your own
    • 1/4 c. flour
    • 3/4 c. light brown sugar
    • 1/4 c. dark brown sugar
    • 1 1/2 t. cinnamon
    • 1 t. nutmeg
    • 1/2 stick butter (cubed into small pieces)
    • 4 medium sized apples (2 tart granny smith, 2 sweet Gala, McIntosh etc.)
    • 1 egg (use only egg white)
    • raisins (optional)

Peel and slice your apples. I suggest getting an apple peeler/corer. This will make things so much easier on you. Prepare 4 apples.
