Abilene's own Larry Gatlin will be in the Abilene area for 4 days in March. Three of those days will be with his musical "The Texas Flyer" which features the HSU theatre and musical departments, March 20-22. The last evening is a very special 'unplugged' event with Larry, on March 23.

Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin Brothers got their start right here in Abilene when they won a talent contest held at Hardin-Simmons University. They, of course, went on to a very successful country music career that garnered many awards including a Grammy. Now Larry Gatlin is back with a musical written and starring the man himself.

Larry Gatlin was recently on Fox and Friends and started discussing his addiction and later his getting help from former First Lady Betty Ford. Through a friend in common the doctor who assisted Ford in her recovery from her addiction helped Larry Gatlin with his addictions to all kinds of drugs and alcohol.
