Texas Rangers have announced that pitcher, Yu Darvish, will have Tommy John surgery; which will keep him out of the 2015 season.

According to ESPN, Darvish will have ligament reconstruction surgery performed on his right elbow by Dr. James Andrews on Tuesday. The surgery will probably keep him out of the entire 2015 season.

Darvish recently felt some tightness in his triceps while warming up for his spring training debut. But, that didn't stop him from throwing 10 out of 12 strikes in one inning before telling anybody about it. An MRI on Friday revealed partially torn ligaments and inflammation in Darvish's right elbow.

Darvish has been dominant since the Rangers paid over $107 million for him to be their ace. The three-time All-Star is 39-25 with a 3.27 ERA with 680 strikeouts in 545 1/3 innings in his three seasons with the Rangers.

With Darvish out, the Rangers have two spots open in a rotation that includes Derek Holland, Colby Lewis and Yovani Gallardo. The candidates for the two empty spots include left-hander Ross Detwiler and right-handers Nick Tepesch, Nick Martinez, Lisalverto Bonilla, Anthony Ranaudo and Ross Ohlendorf.

Do you think the Rangers still have a chance this season with Darvish out?
