Everything old is new again with an Alabama tribute album due out September 17th. While the real Alabama is currently touring for the first time in almost 10 years with their 'Back to the Bowery Tour', others are paying homage to their 40 year anniversary with musical tribute albums like "High Cotton: A Tribute to Alabama".

I'm not one for trying to redo such well known songs. They are great songs the way they are, it's hard to top what Alabama did with them in the first place. However, the Turnpike Troubadours, Wade Bowen and Jason Boland are great musicians and singers in their own right and you know they are going to do the songs justice.

I wasn't disappointed. They made the songs their own but kept the feel of what Alabama did first; they just enhanced them a little. The album also features artists like, J.D. McPherson, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Todd Snider, Brandy Clark, Old Crow Medicine Show and more.

A portion of sales from the album will also be donated to charity. The Grammy Foundation will be the beneficiary.
