January 13, 2013 The George Strait song 'All My Ex's Live in Texas' will never be the same, once you hear what gospel-singer/songwriter Brian Arnold did to it. Arnold has had a rough go at life, first losing his leg at 13 in a horrible lawn mower accident then years later he loses his left arm to an auto accident. Nonetheless, Brian puts together a very successful singing quartet called the Chosen Few, who works full-time out of Silver Dollar City, Missouri. Brian Arnold writes a lot of the groups skits (with comedy injected of course). He has a great sense of humor as you'll soon be able to tell when you hear his newest parody song, 'All My Assets go to Taxes.'
January 13, 2013 The Joseph Thomas Memorial Triathlon for children is scheduled for February 9th, 2013 at Prime Time Entertainment. This years triathlon for kids will consist of miniature golf, bowling and Skee ball. There is no cost for kids to participate in a day of fun and festivities however the Joseph Thomas Foundation (JTF) is a non-profit organization that helps medically fragile children. Kids that have medical and/or physical challenges are encouraged to attend and participate as special arrangements can be made to accommodate these children.
January 13, 2013 Every week I am inundated with up to fifty new songs, some from artists that are hot. Then there's the songs from the artists who maybe should have stayed retired. Then there's those that are unknown in the business. Every once in awhile I'll get one that has some form of familiarity. As was the case this week with a young man named 'Dion Pride,' and he even looks like his daddy Charley Pride. But does he have his fathers talent?
January 13, 2013 As of late I've noticed that a lot of country stars releasing a lot of songs that include and/or glorify some form of faith based spirituality. Eric Church has also joined the growing list of artists that are including the good Lord Jesus Christ in their songs. I personally think it's awesome.
January 12, 2013 They're back, it's time again for the annual youth varmint hunts to benefit the Texas Outdoor C.H.I.L.D. a non-profit organization that provides hunting, fishing and outdoor adventures to children that suffer from terminal illnesses and/or life altering medical conditions. The first in a series of hunts is scheduled for February, 16th and 17th. Any child that is from the Lone Star State can register to participate in the weekend long hunt.
January 11, 2013 When TNT, the television network decided to launch their TV channel in Belgium, they placed a big red push button and a sign hanging over it, smack-dab in the middle of this sleepy, boring, "nothing ever happens here" Flemish little town. Daring the average Flemish person in this Flemish square on an average Flemish day to push it, they mostly just stared at it. The sign over the red button clearly read "Push to add drama." Then finally one person dose, check out what happens next.
January 10, 2013 Do you remember the old battle and subsequent lawsuit between Tim McGraw and his old record label Curb Records? Well apparently the lawsuit may have been settled but the battle rages on. Tim's old record company just released the last album 'Tim McGraw Friends' that Mr. McGraw gave the record company as he exited. But Curb didn't stop there, they also released Tim's newest single (that Tim will not support and/or acknowledge.) The new single is a duet with Colt Ford and it's part 'RAP' part country. Is it good? You tell me, give it a listen and give me your opinion.
January 8, 2013 As the results of a 'readers poll' from last week continues to come in, the actual decision has been made and announced. "Who will co-host the ACM Awards Show with Blake?" The poll leaned heavily toward Blake's wife Miranda Lambert, the powers to be however, decided on Luke Bryan. The 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM) Show will be hosted equally, by Blake Shelton who is returning for his third year and Luke Bryan who is no stranger to the awards show arena. Last year, If you'll recall Luke was reporting from back stage at the CMA's (Country Music Association) for the 'Ellen' show, when Blake shocked everybody by kissing Luke.
January 8, 2013 The Associated Press and NORC, at the University of Chicago have just released their findings of a Nationwide 'Obesity Perceptual' survey of 1000 adults. The survey explored America's understanding, views and opinions on obesity and obese people in particular. The object was to find out what we Americans know and think about the causes and consequences of obesity. While many sighted the link between obesity and health problems and whether the government should address America's obesity epidemic. An alarming majority claimed 'discrimination' is an even bigger issue.

January 4, 2013 When I first heard Kristen Kelly's ‘He Loves to Make Me Cry,’ I had to close the door to my office and turn up the volume. By the time I heard the second verse I sent the kids out of my office to the break room for some sodas and candy. This is a pretty steamy song, or at least in my mind it is. Kristen Kelly exhibits the vocal control and power that is reminiscent of a Martina McBride with the soulfulness of a Billie Holiday or Dinah Washington. Don't just take my word for it, you be the judge and check it out.
January 4, 2013 Miranda Lambert's new song 'Mama's Broken Heart' is very reminiscent of a song Miranda did in her early years in the music industry. A song that kind of set the stage for her 'rough and tough, bad girl image' the old song is 'Kerosene.' While her superstar husband, Blake Shelton is making New Years resolutions of trying to be 'less controversial' and a 'nicer guy,' Miranda puts out another 'rough and tough, burn the town down' kind of song. I like this one as it's got, what I think are two different beats in one song, you be the judge.
