Abilene Area Kids Will Participate in Youth Varmint Hunt for Texas Outdoor Child Organization

They're back, it's time again for the annual youth varmint hunts to benefit the Texas Outdoor C.H.I.L.D. a non-profit organization that provides hunting, fishing and outdoor adventures to children that suffer from terminal illnesses and/or life altering medical conditions. The first in a series of hunts is scheduled for February, 16th and 17th. Any child that is from the Lone Star State can register to participate in the weekend long hunt.

The West Texas REHAB Telethon Auction is Now Online, Bid Now!

The West Texas Rehabilitation Center's Annual Telethon is scheduled to air live from the Abilene Civic Center, January 19 from 7 p.m. to midnight. As with the telethon every year there is a huge auction that takes place and you can participate in from your computer. You'll find everything imaginable from handmade afghans to yard furniture. It's been a year since the last Hospice Radiothon and the Holiday time of year is when most families in the Big Country rely on the services of Hospice professionals. It's a known fact that Hospice is in higher demand during the winter Holidays. So therefore it is important for us to do all we can to raise money and awareness of our own Hendrick Hospice Care and the Radiothon. It's scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 13th and Friday, Dec. 14th 2012 from 6 AM till 6 PM.

The Texans are Coming to Elmwood Baptist in Abilene for a Family Christmas Celebration December 16th [VIDEO]

The Texans, a Christian singing group is scheduled to appear at the Elmwood Baptist Church on the corner of South 14th and Barrow Street. The group will perform on Sunday, December 16th at 6 PM. This will be a family event as this is a free Christian Christmas Concert. The Texans began their musical career at Dallas Christian College in 1971. Today the perform mainly in Branson Missouri since their first show there in 1983 but were known to take to the road and tour, as is the case here in Abilene.
