I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as quick as I could. I'm originally from Battle Creek, Michigan (home of Tony the Tiger). I've got two kids who take up most of my time out of the office, but when I get "me time", I'm either taking in some live music or a sporting event. Since relocating, I also fell in love with the Texas music scene. I've been lucky enough to be nominated for DJ of the Year 4 straight years by the Academy of Texas Music, and was the 2009 recipient of the Academy's Palmwood Award. I'm a huge sports fan, and my loyalties are with the Michigan Wolverines, Chicago White Sox and (sorry) the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Kenny Rogers Talks About His 2013 Country Music Hall of Fame Induction
The first thing that came to mind when I found out that Kenny Rogers was going to be a 2013 inductee into the Country Music Hall of Fame was, "He's not already in?". Like a lot of people, I thought this order of business was taken care of years ago. But Rogers doesn't seem to mind the delay, and the legendary singer teared up while talking to reporters at a recent press conference.

Dave Explains His Appreciation of Secondhand Shirts
As the sixth of seven kids in my family, I rarely wore new clothes. In fact, I can only remember ever having a few new items of clothing every school year, and the rest were "hand-me-downs" passed on to me from my older brothers (and sisters, I'm sure). I'm not complaining, but growing up, I always dreamed of the day I would have a closet full of brand new clothes. But now as an adult, I
It Was Worth the 5-Year Wait for The Statesboro Revue’s ‘Ramble on Privilege Creek’ – CD Review
I've been a fan of The Statesboro Review for a few years now. Since I first listened to the Austin-based band's debut CD, 'Different Kind of Light' in 2008, I was hooked on their sound. Stewart Mann and his band brought to my ears a terrific blend of southern rock, country, soul, bluegrass and folk, delivered in a fashion that seemed so natural. Along with their growing fan base, I've waited patie

The Randy Rogers Band earned the right to stretch his boundaries a long time ago. The success they have seen in his 13+ years as a Texas country singer/songwriter allows that, and his legions of fans embrace the fact that Rogers pushes the creative envelope and still makes great music. ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’ Reviewed By Nathan, My 13-Year Old Son
My 13-year old son, Nathan, has become quite a fan of movies lately. And as is the case with most teenagers, he has an opinion about pretty much everything. So I figured we could combine his appreciation for cinema and hearing himself speak, and have him review the movies he goes to see.
