While we’re not quite out of winter yet and with the recent prediction from one very famous ground hog predicting six more weeks of winter, I thought I’d pass along country singer, Marlee Scott’s hot cocoa recipe and her instructional video. If you don’t have one of ‘Marlee Scotts’ mugs the one where the words disappear and Marlee Scott appears, no need to fear, check out her website and online store.
Founder Danny Thomas saw his life long dream of starting a hospital for children, become a reality fifty years ago. Who would have ever thought, when the first cancer patient walked through the doors of the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, that an entertainer and his Doctor friends would find a way to cure certain types of cancer. The year was 1962 and the disease was acute lymphoblastic leukemia and the cure percentage-rate was less than 4%. Fast forward 50 years, it’s the same disease only the cure rate is right at 96%. It’s time we all pitched into cure all other types of cancers.
Invisible ink is one thing, but invisible people? Is it really possible? The answer is yes, according to this recent newscast. The Japanese have figured out how to make the ‘Invisible Cloak’, the one many futuristic movies teased us with for so long. It’s not just a ‘Harry Potter’ fantasy anymore and it’s called Retro-reflective projection technology. I wonder how the military will use this new discovery.
I ran across this story while flying back from Memphis last month, it’s a World War II story about a sailor, his life belt and his mother. I didn’t know for sure if this story was true or not, I wanted to get it verified before I shared it with you. Come to find out the story is 100% factual and the sailor in the story was signalman 3rd class Elgin Leroy Staples of Akron Ohio. Watch the video to see how a mother’s love and her work saved her sons life during an attack by enemy forces.
I never saw it coming and I’ve watched it 5 times already. Painter David Garibaldi has painted the likes of President Obama, singer Michael Jackson, boxer Muhammad Ali, singer Rihanna and Albert Einstein just to name a few. It’s the way that Garibaldi paints that makes him so amazing. His fluid movements, swaying to the music and in the end, he flips his masterpiece over and it’s a beautiful portrait of Jesus Christ our savior. Check it out, you’ll be in awe.
I was awakened out of a deep sleep when three very hungry coyotes decided to visit my house in search of one of my wife’s cats. The yelping and howling made the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up. So I jumped out of bed and ran out of the house yelling, thinking this behavior would scare the pesky varmints away, but no, they decided to play a game of we can stare you down and we ain’t moving.
ABC radio news has just confirmed that 6-time Grammy winner Randy Travis was arrested this morning for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was not only booked for DWI but also for having an open bottle of wine with him at the time he was pulled over. If you know me, you know how big a firearms fan and proponent that I am, so when this video came across my email I knew I wanted to share it with you. First off it’s a caliber I’ve never heard of, a .950 and shoots a 2,400 grain bullet, which costs about $40.00 per round. Now remember I’m a shooting sports enthusiast , hunter and gunsmith so my next question is, who can afford to shoot this thing and further more why?
While Toby Keith’s hot new song Red Solo Cup is at the top of the charts and on everyone’s mind, it seems as if everywhere I turn somebody is either singing it or whistling it. Now the Tap Tap game folks are offering the new song Red Solo Cup free as part of their application.
The first time I ever flew on a Southwest airlines flight I was very surprised at the announcements the flight attendants gave prior to take off. We were told that due to the one and a half hour flight no food would be served and that eating fellow passengers was prohibited because it has become difficult disposing on their remains. Humor made the flight more bearable. Some airlines might resort to humor but the Finnair crew decided to treat all their passengers to a special India Republic Day dance.
